General information about doors

For prospective buyers

Lee Ludd makes three door types: Touch, Single or Double
Touch Single Double
One prim Two prims Three prims
L$100 for one copy L$150 for one copy L$250 for one copy
Opens when you touch it. Opens when you step on a mat
Easiest to install. Easiest to use
The mat can be made invisible
As your needs change, you can change your door. For example, you can convert a touch door to a single door by just purchasing a mat.
Other features are exactly the same for all three types.
NOTE: Doors in the store are displayed in various ways
Some are displayed as double doors, some as single doors, some as touch doors. No matter how they are displayed, the vendor box next each door will let you choose the type you actually want to buy.
Permissions
The prims are modifiable. You can resize a door up to 10 meters high, 5 meters wide. A double door can fill a space as big as 10 meters by 10 meters. You can also change the texture on the door.
Most of the scripts are not modifiable.
The doors are not copiable. You can get discount if you buy more than on copy of any door. Look here for an overview of the discount prices.
The doors are transferrable. You can sell them or give them to anyone.

Window in door
Every door has some kind of window
The window on each side of the door can be open or closed, independent of the other side.
Events
Every door says "Welcome ..." when it opens, "Goodbye ..." when it closes. You can turn this greeting off, or change it.
It makes noises. You can turn them off or provide your own.
A door bell rings when it's locked and someone tries to enter. You can turn this bell off, or change the sound it makes.
Normally, a door opens for a while then closes automatically. You can adjust how fast it opens, and how long it stays open.
You can also cause the door to open and remain open until you actually make it close.
Features for Landlords
If you rent houses and want to provide your tenants with a door they can control, you can assign Tenant status to the person you rent to. That person will then have access to a smaller version of the owner's menu, and will be able to lock and unlock the door, change some of its features, and add names to the lock list and to the guest list. Click here to view the tenant's menu.
If you use the tenant's feature, you will only need to visit the door when you welcome a new tenant. You can avoid even this trip if you use the APEZ Auto-Lease boxes, which you can purchase the Apez Auto-Lease add-on kit (from APEZ). You can then obtain a free script from Lee Ludd, and automatically assign Tenant status to a new renter and remove this privilege when the lease expires.
